HELP-PORTRAIT

Just last week was Thanksgiving and I had some time to think about all the things that I take for granted and all the things I’m thankful for in my life. For quite some time I’ve been wanted to give back to others, and since I love to take pictures of people, I didn’t hesitate when I heard about Help-Portrait. My love for capturing people with my camera came from the pure enjoyment that I feel when I interact with others while taking their picture. I can’t get enough of a little boy or girl laughing to the point that their stomach hurts, a bride smiling and feeling like she is on top of the world, a mother crying because she just gave birth to a beautiful healthy little baby, or a Dad laughing at his sons funny jokes. Its those special moments that have created the passion that I have for photographing people, and its what I truly love to do.

Help-Portrait is a group of volunteers (photographers, make-up artists, and any one that would love to just help) that are collaborating to give to others the gift of love. If you’d like to help out in any way, please contact me at studio@ec-designs.com

Below are two short clips to explain what Help-Portrait is all about and how you can help if you’d like.

P.S. I’m so excited to be apart of Help-Portrait and can’t wait for 12-12-09 to meet new people, share stories, see smiles, hear laughter, watch tears of joy, and feel the love of life!

We’re Famous!!! Our first family photo shoot

If you follow my blog you know that I have taken thousands of photos of my wife Kristy and my son Brody. But sometimes its nice to be on the other side of the camera getting photos taken of me with my family. So I had the chance to do that recently and its great to feel the excitement that all my clients feel when they get their photos back for the first time. Our family photo shoot was at a Dreher Park in West Palm Beach.  I had driven past it hundreds of times not realizing how unique it was.  Most of Florida is pretty flat and boring, but this park had some fun hills to play on which made for a real fun location, and of course we had a blast.

I want to thank Gilcelia Photography for shooting our family portraits. Gil captured us just the way we are; playful, affectionate, goofy, lots of kisses, energetic, willing to do funny things to make fun photos, and (at the end of our shoot) sweating and tired.   So thank you Gil, for being a great person and capturing photos that reflect who we are!

P.S. You could never tell by the photos, but Brody had just woke up from a nap, and was one cranking little crab! Check out Gilcelia’s post on her blog at Gilcelia Photography!

Happy Halloween with Mickey Mouse

The other night we went to my brother-in-laws house for a little pumpkin carving party. Instead of carving something scary, I decided to carve a friendly face for my son to enjoy, and that friendly face happens to be Mickey Mouse. Hope everyone has a happy and safe Halloween this evening. Enjoy!
